Who We Are
I’m Harper, the founder of Drone Zone, a community built around a shared passion for photography, exploration, and the incredible possibilities that modern cameras give us to capture the world in unique ways. As an adventure photographer, mechanical engineer, and space enthusiast, I launched Drone Zone to be more than just a retailer — we’re a collective of creative minds and outdoor adventurers who push the limits of what’s possible and use incredible technology to tell their story.
Drone Zone started out of a love for DJI products and their unmatched quality and reliability in the drone market. My journey began young, fueled by the excitement of capturing even one image from above, seeing my world from a new angle. Growing up in London, I had some fantastic starting shots, and my love for drones only grew with the release of the DJI Phantom 3. The first time seeing a live camera feed was like a dream come true. Since then, I've used almost every DJI product — from the ultra-light Mini series to the powerful Inspire models for high-speed, professional tracking shots. Today, I use the Mavic 3 Pro as my main aerial camera, capturing landscapes from all over the world.
My passion for photography likely started with my grandmother, a talented black-and-white film photographer who developed all her work by hand. Over the past two years, I’ve traveled across six continents, photographing athletes in extreme sports and some of the most awe-inspiring landscapes on the planet. I’ve worked with skiers, mountain bikers, climbers, Red Bull wingsuiters, paragliders, freedivers, and many others. I've had the privilege of photographing Nims Purja, the record-breaking Nepalese mountaineer and star of Netflix’s popular documentary 14 Peaks, during two extraordinary high-altitude expeditions in the Himalayas. In our last climb, I was the expedition photographer on our mission to summit a 7000m mountain called Ama Dablam, which sits just next to Everest. At 6:52 am on the 12th of November, I stood at the top, towered only by the summit of Everest (8848m), and watched the sun rise over what was probably the most spectacular view I have ever seen. My photography journey has taken me from some of the highest mountains to the depths of the ocean. I've captured life under the surface through both scuba diving and freediving (without an oxygen tank), using a custom metal housing to protect my equipment. For three unforgettable months, I lived aboard a dive boat in Indonesia, serving as an underwater photographer in residence.
Throughout my work, drones have been essential. Thanks to DJI’s innovative technology, I have captured moments that photographers wouldn’t have even dreamed of just a few years ago. I’ve pushed the Inspire 2 to its limits on commercial shoots, capturing high-speed action with precision, often chasing off-road vehicles or speedboats at upwards of 100 kph! The Mavic 3 Pro is always by my side when I travel, ready to capture anything from breaching whales far out at sea to erupting volcanoes from above with incredible detail.
Drone Zone is a community of creators, photographers, and adventurers with a love for the incredible technology we now have access to. Our mission is to empower individuals to explore the world from new perspectives, whether through stunning aerial photography, filmmaking, or content creation.
